About Nexora

A data team in Nairobi, working on the basics that matter

Many organisations are told they need artificial intelligence. Most of the ones we talk to need something simpler first: sales, finance and operations numbers that agree with each other and arrive on time.

Why we exist

Good decisions need reliable numbers

Kenyan businesses run on a mix of systems: M-Pesa for payments, an accounting package or ERP, a point-of-sale system, survey apps in the field, and a lot of Excel holding it all together. Each system works on its own. The trouble starts when you need a number that depends on more than one of them.

That's the gap Nexora fills. We build the pipelines and the database that join your systems up, and the reports and dashboards that sit on top. Once that foundation is in place, forecasting and more advanced analysis become possible, and worth doing.

We work with organisations that are big enough to have a data problem but don't have a full data team of their own.

How we think

Four principles behind every project

Start with the decision

Before we build anything, we ask what you'll do differently once you have the number. If the answer is "nothing", we don't build it.

Choose simple technology on purpose

A well-run PostgreSQL database and a scheduled job will outlast a complex platform your team can't maintain. We pick tools you can afford to run after we leave.

Write it down

Every metric gets a written definition. Every pipeline gets documentation. When someone asks "where does this number come from?", there's an answer.

You own everything

The code lives in your repository, the data stays in your own account, and you get admin access from day one. You're never locked in to working with us.

Who we work with

Organisations with real data and no data team

If your reports depend on one person and a spreadsheet, we can probably help.

  • SACCOs and microfinance institutions: loan book reporting, arrears tracking, M-Pesa reconciliation.
  • Distributors, wholesalers and retailers: sales by route, branch and product, stock and reordering.
  • NGOs and research organisations: field data pipelines, M&E indicators, donor reporting.
  • Growing companies and startups: a first data warehouse and the metrics investors and boards ask for.
